Presents
As I was wrapping presents tonight, and feeling completely stressed out, I got to thinking.....
Having a combined over 40 family members , friends, etc. Christmas is not what it use to be. I love the big family events, Temple lights, traditions, decorarions, parties, and all the joy Christmas has to offer. I don't enjoy the pressure of getting everyone a perfect gift. I do want to make sure everyone knows how important they are to us though. I don't mean to be a Scrooge, but I have been to the Mall about 5 times in the past two weeks and am not even half way done. I guess I should have prepared and shopped all year for everyone, but I didn't. Nothing makes me happier then seeing my son, family, friends get a gift they love. I would personally rather see their smiling faces, then recieve a gift myself. I just feel Christmas has turned into an excuse to overcharge your credit card. As we were at the Temple watching the movie Luke 2, I left feeling so grateful that Christ was born. I wish Christmas wasn't so much about a million gifts. I know Grandma will spoil my son , and thats what Grandmas do best, but I want to make sure our traditions are all about truly celebrating Christ birth. I know this will be a wonderful year with Austin being 2 1/2 seeing his face light up Christmas morning, and I guess it will all be worth it. "Bah! Humbug!"

Hey Becky,
I am so glad I can see what your familly is doing!! This blogging thing is so much fun! Austin is getting so big!! Could he be any cuter? I am totally with you on the whole Christmas thing! It is so stressful! But at the same time it's so fun too!!
True dat sista!
I totally agree - When Dan and I decided to only get presents for my mom, and 1 of my siblings ( we each draw a name each year), we were much happier and less stressed out during the holidays! I HATE shopping this time of year...
Honestly! Love that. We condense in our family. There is just to much to worry about otherwise.....
LOL I loved this post Beck. I think we all can relate to how you are feeling, I know I do. I honestly could hardly think of gifts to get my boys this year because there's nothing they really NEED. So we bought a lot less this year and stayed on budget and it was the least stressful present-buying experience I've had so far. Also, I shopped with Sean this year and that made it really easy to condense!! I'm sure everyone will love anything you get them, you are such a kind, generous person. Try not to stress! Let's get together this week to do your blog - Friday?
Hi Becky, Bryce & Austin! Becky, Thank you so much for your kind comment on our blog. It definitely is fun being a dad of girls. Beck I can't wait to see you on Friday! I can bring my laptop if you want to take a look at the papers I have to change your blog up. Let me know! See ya tomorrow
So true - do we really do all this because we want to or because it's what we think we are supposed to do? I have over-simplified this year (aside from last Sunday) and I have loved it! Hopefully it won't get too hetic in Utah!
Hey Beck, thanks for coming to lunch on Friday! It was great seeing you and talking. Remember when Cade took pictures with my camera? He took the funniest pictures of you doing some really cute gestures. I'll have to email them to you (or put them on my blog...ha ha) so you can laugh! lol I loved hanging out with you. Let me know when you want to get together! Maybe after Christmas since it's so close or I have time next week just give me a call. Love ya
